What I’ve loved most about Sarah’s series of guest posters during my absence has been how amazingly representative of the circuitous nature of the liberal artist quest they are. You remember “the quest,” right? It’s the quest for fulfillment, sometimes employment, and passion. If you missed directional potpourri: June tells her story of going backward to go forward. Chelsea tells her story of surging forward and then thinking twice about it. And Leslie tells her story of planning to move forward two ways and then finding an alternative path entirely.

This proves to me that you have to find your own way. There’s no one to tell you what to do. It’s okay to make it up as you go along because that’s what most of us are doing, even if we won’t admit it.

And if only college taught us how to improve our life! But it didn’t.
